A small home, built on a simple idea.
Everyone deserves a good day. Better Days Care exists to give four young adults the stability, respect and everyday support they need to grow into adult life — in a home that actually feels like one.
Why we do things differently
Many young adults leaving children's services face a big jump — from close, familiar support into services that can feel large, clinical or impersonal. Better Days Care was set up to close that gap: a small, four-bed home where every resident is genuinely known, not just accommodated.
We keep the home deliberately small on purpose. With only four young adults living here at any time, our team can build real relationships, notice the small changes that matter, and adjust support quickly when something isn't working — instead of waiting for the next review.
The values behind every decision we make
Respect & Dignity
Every resident is treated as an adult with a voice, choices and a say in their own daily life.
Real Independence
We support people to do things for themselves wherever possible, not just do things for them.
Consistency & Stability
A settled home and a familiar team, so residents always know what to expect and who's around them.
Community & Belonging
We encourage residents to stay connected to friends, family and their wider community, not just the home.
Honesty & Openness
Clear, honest communication with residents, families and professionals — especially when things are hard.
Safety First
A safe, well-run home is the foundation everything else is built on.
A trained, consistent team you can rely on
Every member of staff at Better Days Care is vetted and trained before they support residents, with regular refresher training after that.
Enhanced DBS Checks
Every staff member is vetted before they ever work with residents.
Safeguarding Training
Recognising and responding to safeguarding concerns is core training for everyone.
Medication Management
Trained and competency-checked before administering or supporting with medication.
Positive Behaviour Support
Understanding what's behind behaviour, and responding calmly and consistently.
First Aid & Emergencies
Ready to respond to medical emergencies and everyday first aid needs.
Ongoing CPD & Supervision
Regular supervision and refresher training so skills stay sharp, not just at induction.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility here
Safeguarding isn't a policy on a shelf — it's built into how we run the home day to day.
Clear Reporting Routes
Residents, families and staff all know how to raise a concern, and what happens once they do.
Open-Door Culture
Concerns are listened to, not deflected. We'd rather hear about a problem early than not at all.
Partnership Working
We work closely with social workers, safeguarding boards and other professionals around each resident.
Openly regulated, openly accountable
Better Days Care operates in line with the standards set by the Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW), the body responsible for regulating care services in Wales. Our Statement of Purpose and full policies are available for families and professionals to review.
